Real Hardware Spec's?

Post by 300cpilot »

What would be the ideal stand alone box setup/hardware to run ReactOS?

I have been trying to install ReactOS on a test box Dell 860 with the following spec's:

Intel Dual core 2.4ghz
1 gig of ram
(2) 80gig Sata II hard drives
Built in cdrom + usb cdrom
(1) intel 1 gig nic
(2) Built in Broadcom 1 gig nic's

This box will not boot from a live cd or the installation cd 0.3.10. It just goes to a black screen after the you choose which way you wany ReactOS to boot.
Is this more likely from the usb/sata cdrom's or the sata hard drives?

Thanks!

Intel ICH7 (AHCI).

Maybe it is because of bug 4561.

Thanks for the replys, it is clear that some things are not worked out yet, but your getting there!

But I would like to thank you for making ReactOS! I voted for you at Suorceforge: http://sourceforge.net/community/cca09/vote/

You will change the world!
