Try VESA.
As for whether we would ever modify ROS specifically to work on VPC, highly unlikely.

You can safely ignore what microsoft say.
Previous version of ReacOS work in VGA mode but not in VESA mode, the latest version doesn't work in both modes.
Can be made a video driver for Virtual PC?

But can be made a specific driver for VirtualPC (maybe in a separate download) installable manually after the end of the setup of ReactOS? (when vga will start working again)

So while you work on win32k etc., will it improve the performance of the Desktop GUI? Or is a rewrite of the GUI planned in future?

There already exists a rewritten shell, but it depends on a lot of incomplete shell APIs.

you'd be better off switching to vmware server. much beter reactos compatability. you could also try the reactos testing enviroment.
MS VPC has never had very good compatability with reactos and probably won't for a while yet.

I tried the last version of VirtualBox with ReactOS. It runs faster than Qemu+Kqemu, at least on my PC. The network adapter is detected and installed automatically and everything works ok.
Virtual PC runs too slow for me.
