Developing Drivers for ReactOS

To develop an open source driver that works with both ReactOS and Windows
do I have to get hold of the DDK from Microsoft or do the ReactOS sources contains similar/compatible files?

I have just came across two good articles on driver development on codeproject which may be of interest to other beginning ReactOS developers.
