ReactOS icon set

Post by mf »

Since I don't have much better to do, and can't do any programming contributions, I decided to make some icons to replace the Everaldo icons. I just started last night and I have a whole style I'm intending on following, which after some short IRC discussion seemed to be met with enthousiasm from developers. The style I'm going for is a mix between OSX realism, WinXP angles, and Win98/2K color tones. The latter will assure a certain level of "familiarity feeling". I want to throw down a solid professional look, to define ReactOS' identity.

Attempts so far:

My computer

Hard Drive

(Update)

Trash Can Empty

(Update 2)

Trash Can Full

(Update 3)

Folder Closed

(Update 4)

Folder Open

Eventually these will all be available in 64x64, 48x48, 32x32, 16x16, in Truecolor+alpha, 256+index, and 16 color variants.

Also, this is not the definitive representation. Some small sizes may not be clear in these versions, or there might be some other flaws. The final versions will all be polished to perfection.

I just finished the Trash can :). You'll definitely spot the intended similarity to a certain OS' trashcan ;).

Not bad, vaguely reminds me of the BeOS Trash(can).

1ce they're made in all different colors/sizes and released under a good license they'll be STRONG contenders for default use. They look GREAT: fresh and new, while still familiar looking.
