I guess it did not change how you can do that. Did you try it?
ReactOS is still in alpha stage, meaning it is not feature-complete and is recommended only for evaluation and testing purposes

I noted one difference regarding the build method...
the command is "ninja ntoskrnl" and not "make ntoskrnl"
it should be entered in [sources]\output-MinGW-i386\reactos directory.

In other word see: http://www.reactos.org/wiki/Building_ReactOS
- Install RosBe and start it.
[sources] is the source directory selected in rosbe.
- get the sources
C:\> cd [sources]
[sources]> ssvn create
- execute configure
[sources]> configure
- change the logo in [sources root]\ntoskrnl\inbv\logo\5.bmp
- change the logo in [sources root]\ntoskrnl\inbv\logo\1.bmp
- Build a bootcd or live cd
[sources]\output-MinGW-i386\host-tool\> cd output-MinGW-i386\host-tool\
[sources]\output-MinGW-i386\host-tool\> ninja
[sources]\output-MinGW-i386\reactos\> cd ..\reactos
[sources]\output-MinGW-i386\reactos\> ninja bootcd
or
[sources]\output-MinGW-i386\reactos\> ninja livecd

if all is gone well you will have bootcd.iso or livecd.iso in
[sources]\output-MinGW-i386\reactos\

Iddeally we should ship a style editing tool providing boot logo customisiation without patching kernel. Only affected programs will be bootlogo editors.
-uses Ubuntu+GNOME 3 GNU/Linux

That would be a wonderful feature. Hacking the boot screen in WinXP was not the most pleasant experience and updates would often undo the change. Does Resource Hacker work in ReactOS?

Yes for now. We will need a more customisable splash screen just like we did for FreeLDR.
