Re: NT 6.1 Like Design :)
nice design! however i thing non-transparent designs are better (for performance purposes only) but i like modern designs like the one we can find in yours!

So, what is that a picture of? I don't speak whatever language that's in. It looks like Windows re-themed, but I doubt that's what it actually is.
[rhetorical] Is anyone surprised by this? [/rhetorical]Dave3434 wrote:not bad but i really likke 95-xp look better.

At this stage is not so difficult to remove transparency.jonaspm wrote:nice design! however i thing non-transparent designs are better (for performance purposes only) but i like modern designs like the one we can find in yours!

I love your Design. Also I like the Idea to call the ROS Explorer Replorer. This has some kind of individuality.

This is one more of those designs, that present itself with abundence of graphic decorations on a space that's suppose to be the workspace. You know, that's fine to please your eye for the first twenty seconds or so, but this is an operating system, not a renaissance painting.
Re: NT 6.1 Like Design :)
If people think that, no such thing as WinNT design would not exist.
While you're right. Strongly hold to a beautiful not worth it.

I am clearly in favour of transparency. It gives reactos a modern and beautiful look.
Is it currently possibly to install a transparent theme on a trunk version?

Re: NT 6.1 Like Design :)
transparency is beautiful, but it uses (as i know) video card's power, so performace is a bit slower while transparency is enabled

The term "design" is not limited to aesthetics, and there already was (and I belive there still is room for more) design improvement in ReactOS compared to Windows. The simple fact that ReactOS has this forum section open to community suggestions may give it an edge over the corporate design decisions. I'm not talking about fancy stuff here, it can be just the common sense material that gets the chance to be considered.MaxAx wrote:If people think that, no such thing as WinNT design would not exist.

is it possible to have xp look?
Re: NT 6.1 Like Design :)
we have an own implementation of uxtheme.dll which makes it possible to apply WinXP Styles for Windows and Controls, but not yet for Taskbar.Dave3434 wrote:is it possible to have xp look?
This will change when we got explorer_new to work, where also the taskbar is themed.
Just open services.exe, set theming to autostart, reboot, copy your favourite style to %WINDIR%\Resources\Themes (you have to create this directory) and apply the style in Desktop properties.
