ReactOS is still in alpha stage, meaning it is not feature-complete and is recommended only for evaluation and testing purposes.

Re: How about "Metro UI"?
I imagine someone will make a Metro UI-like interface for Windows 7/Vista/XP at some point, so anyone who wants it could use that.
Today entirely the maniac there is no excuse with the article. Get free BeOS, DOS, OS/2, and Windows games at RGB Classic Games.

Re: How about "Metro UI"?
Yes, but that one claims to require Windows 7, so it might not work in ReactOS given our Windows 2003 compatibility target.

To have Metro, we first must get Dot Net 4.5 working
Re: How about "Metro UI"?

I use it a while now and it sucks. I disabled it as much as possible and put back a start menu. Now windows 8 is fine and has some nice new features I don't wanna miss anymore.

I'm already up to speed in first two sentences, but don't knwo much about the third. Could you elaborate on what are these nice new features? I like the new taskmanager and overal responsiveness (running in dual-core VM and response is great).EmuandCo wrote:I use it a while now and it sucks. Re: How about "Metro UI"?
I'm curious too which features you found useful in 8? I havent booted it up yet, but have heard mixed reviews from friends. I guess the speed is the best part they mentioned though.
.NET MVC web project- subdomain custom mapping, ie: bank of america and chase bank locations and now an ASP.Net Core based pokemon app at pokefind
Re: How about "Metro UI"?
Metro UI suck IMHO, but porting advanced features to "our" GUI could be a good idea.
As I claimed here:
Hope that inspires !

And here's another interesting related discussion @ Haiku forums. It would be great to have Haiku GUI functions instead (vector icons, windows stack&tile, etc).
Hope that inspires !
