8) I had the coolest idea. 8)
What if ROS was capable of formatting a floppy and adding the system stuff like you can do in Windows. Yah. It gets better.
If you can have some basic functions and Cd-rom support, it would kick Billy Fence's @$$!

The MS boot floppies suk unless u know how to install cd-rom in dos.
(Most people don't know how to do that!)

The first two are really covered if you simply get a FreeDOS boot disk, but the last one about removing bad drivers/registry-stuff sounds really niffty ;)

For any type of bootable environment, I always use CD's now. The sheer slowness of loading even DOS from a floppy makes CD's worthwhile.

The first two are on MS ones. And the third, that is the general idea of safe mode/recovery con.

Boot floppys next to useless on my hardware no floppy drive.

Boot cdrom and boot Usb tools are just as critical and lot faster.

More important is Unattendend setup. Place disk in and walk away and have a complete install after its complete.

Freedos would be the fastest way. Linux most likely the faster for unattended.

Microsoft start floppy disks allow the use of CD-roms. However, it installs before a ramdrive and takes a "long" time for a MS-DOS system (less of course than any GUI SO ;))

Boot floppy is dead for me.

Boot cdrom and boot usb stick.

Floppys are only used to get around bois problems.

Ie the floppy force loaded the cdrom. Smart boot manager comes to mind. Works well.
