D:\ won't work 0.2.7

for some reason I can't access the d:\ drive. properties, explore, and open don't work with it, on version 0.2.7. If you have any ideas please let me know .

Could you please tell what filesystem is on your "D:" drive? Or is it a cd drive?
You can try to open a cmd and type in D: (and then maybe dir to display files/dirs inside it) if this works it is a explorer problem, but I don't think so.

oh ok. Its a cd drive, running under vmware. In setup it detected vmware and installed all the drivers, and it seemed to be ok. But now i'm not sure why it won't load.

Could you please tell what happens when you open it in explorer? Does it just appear as an empty drive? Or are there error messages? I'm afraid I can't help you without knowing what's going on.
Also, what image did you load into the drive in vmware? (If there is no image (or real drive) associated with it then it can't work)
