I think Explorer is being developed by Martin Fuchs. Maybe this web site will be of some use to you:

Explorer is quite OK in XP
Hello, have you tried ROS Explorer in WinXP, it's quite alright actually, there is more problems with lacking functionality in the underlying systems. Read the info in http://www.sky.franken.de/explorer and try it yourself.

1. after i open "My Computer", when i double-click an icon (folder/file) the right-click menu pops up in the upper-left corner.
it happens only once.
2. when i try to drag some file somwhere and then let it go, the mouse pointer seems to stay in the drag-mode, and i can't move the file....
3.some times in the list-view, when i try to close the explorer window, it stays open, and the whole desktop stops refreshing it self.
more errors comming soon.

Exploder
I do see no acceptable reason for cloning the "Exploder", or even using
it. It is not only buggy (the MS's one), but also highly misconcepted,
and totally obsolete ( I do NEVER use it). So I would prefer developing the
kernel, and the SW / HW / Drivers compatibility.
Do not BUY / CRACK / USE Longhorn or Winedowns XP, use ROS &
FreeDOS.

Re: Exploder
I don't agree, I love MS exploder, the taskbar, the start menu, quicklaunch, favorites etc. (if it's properly configurated. windows XP default is terrible, windows 2000/2003 default is nice, and great when tweaked)StopTCPA2 wrote:I do see no acceptable reason for cloning the "Exploder", or even using

Well, i think that te beauty of open source software is due to the possibility of freedom integration. I think is time to involve other project's developers to build a rock solid, simple and usefull shell for ReactOS (and, why not, Windows systems). So check out these links:

Not entirely accurate!
Well, this statement isn't entirely accurate, ROS explorer does support it, but not the underlying ROS functions.GreatLord wrote:Drag file are not yet suppret by ros explore.
If ROS explorer runs on XP all the complaints above will be working, ROS explorer is actually quite good!
What we need is some development done to make ROS more compatible to windows, or actually implement all functions, more developers please!
