Too late. I'm counting it as a submission. Of course you are free to tweak it and submit a "final" version to replace this one.

Here's my idea for reactos website:

http://hyper.hekko.pl/all_dogs_go_to_heaven.html

Please note the above design is not a contest submission. I have doubts yet.
I rly like that one.

I know I am a bit too late to influence the webdesigns but I may still influence the webdesign decision (influence is a bit too hard a term here but...).
While looking through the discussion about the website design contest, the thing that stood out the most to me were the signature graphics from ReactOS (ie the ReactOS Translator / ReactOS Tester / ReactOS supporter graphics) for the simple fact that they were colourful. They made a huge difference in an otherwise monotone website.
 colour good

It's also a shame that this contest wasn't put up on the homepage news section where more people could have seen it - I came across this just by chance while going through newsletters.

Some great designs - good work everyone.

Not bad indeed, sober, clean, information easily visible and identifiable. It is just a bit too bright and fonts too small to my personal taste.

I just see 3 issues,

1)Logo, which cant not be modified by Trademark/Copyright/Blabla/whatever issues.
2)Plain design, some volumes would make it nicer.(Shadows, a little bit 3-dish separators..).
3)Seems a lot of content will be out mainly: Scrennshots?,History?,Licenses?..other seems to pass unnoticed as the Download link.

But seems to be a clear one :)

I photoshopped the current design in an attempt to reduce some of the redundant entries; I am would like to post but I do not know if violates any copyright to do so. My work is not original, more of a rehash of the frontpage and a work in progress of the forum. Who designed the current website :?:

There should be no copyright problem, as you don't use it anywhere else or something like that.
Current Design is from frik85.

You may also send it to me in a PM, if you're unsure about the legal thing.

Alright, my process so far:

Frontpage

Forum
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3517/378 ... 0690_o.png

I still want to add more to the page with the forum, because there is space on the right which can be utilized. The menus and background may benefit from an artists touch, but I like the current simplicity  Again, I chopped up screen captures and I do not claim this to be my original work.

Hi. I have reworked my previous submission a bit:

http://hyper.hekko.pl/all_dogs_go_to_heaven-darker.html

Your feedback is much appreciated.

Gents, can the new site have a link to the creator's website at the bottom of the page? perhaps a "Web design by xxxx" link? I'll work up a submission if some credit will be displayed for the chosen submission.

Thanks!

Yes, credits will be given.

We've to change the date for publishing our descision to 31th August 2009, because one of our jury members is on holidays on the 25th August. The end of accepting submissions isn't affected

Thanks for the update. I've decided to have our GA build a design, so we will submit a draft soon. I'm hoping we are selected because I'd like to have the extra "excuse" to promote ROS on the setiri site when it goes live this month.

Here's my entry: http://imgur.com/DTRV4.jpg. It may need some tweaking but you get the idea...

First comp by our lead GA- http://www.setiri.com/roscomp1.jpg. Let me know any feedback here. I'll be leaving shortly for the rest of the evening so will see any feedback tomorrow.

I like the color added by the smoke but suspect some may think it is too colorful, so based on feedback we may reduce colors on this portion (blue/grey smoke perhaps)

Also note that our company purchases licenses to use some of the images and icons etc, so please don't post edited versions of this comp without checking with me first. Thanks.
