Dropdown menus can't be made unless DOM is used, which is JavaScript. CSS alone is insufficient to make dropdown menus.

I've no idea what DOM is but I'll take your word for it that it won't work and I'll have to have a rethink of the idea. :D

Your design actually makes the site harder to navigate since you end up trying to hide even more things.

Hence why I'm not a professional. Lol! :D

Guess I'll go right back to the drawing board and rethink how to keep it clean yet easy to navigate.

Thanks for all your input though guys; it helps highlight design problems that I'd never thought about before.

Yours. I do have to agree, it looks way worse than our current theme.

anyone else totally lost on what looks good and what they are looking for? I can make basicly anything i just dont know what style they like, do they want a rehash modern version of this? Something new? Heavy graphics etc...... can someone post some sites they like?
