Hahahaha...honestly, a minimalistic approach would probably look a bit better than the current covers. There's just something about the ReactOS logo that I dislike, I suppose. It's a bit too complex (in terms of the gradations and whatnot) for a logo, and it isn't particularly packed to the gills with excitement. I kinda wish that there was a more simplified take on the logo, kinda like what's happened to the Windows logo over the years. How long has the ReactOS logo been the way it is now?

Hehe, a new cd cover.
Ok, the current cover is not actuell. Now, we have not the version 0.3.1, we have the version 0.3.7.
The stability is better, the system is more compatible than the old version.
I am not a designer, I am a coder. Ok, a very bad one.
Somebody else should create a new cover. But what is with the old designer? Does he/she croak?

Hi, i tried a changed ReactOS cover based in the original version of course. I did it with Inkscape. I took some svg files from Wikipedia.
I just changed it in few hours, so there are still some issues like the "Compact Disc Bootable" logo (i didn't found it on Wikipedia), the 0.3.7 changelog...

Keeping the idea(as a cd-rom case) but updating 0.3.1 to 0.3.7...that will be so nice..and useful.

a lil' more playing with atomic and a knowing flagg, but, scold be a lil' other flag be,
you know, copyright..... but why not a lil' bit more play around atomic like the DVD-Case-Art-PSD-file
at last link.. but outside... play around like halflive make more covers and let see what have
you make with fun .. and i think, it's a must be to have a litle fun by making some covers,

Nice, but why dont have a list of support language? On dvd cover?

I'd mentioned simplifying the ReactOS logo previously. Here's what I had in mind. Since I don't feel like figuring out how to use Inkscape or anything like that right now, I did a really quick, really crappy-looking mockup of my proposed logo in Paint.NET. Here it is:

It´s a little bit "sad"...too much simplified...

I think actual ReactOS logo(the one with the"ReactOS" name overlaying the Atom) it´s too much overelaborate: Gradients+4 lines+all the "ReactOS" word overlaying it.That causes eye fatigue.Look it for 10 seconds,i´m sure your eyes have running away to a clean space(Have u noticed it?)

I propose two options(they arent mutually exclusive):

1)Just the Atom(as now) with the 4 lines, but without ReactOS word overlaying:Like Windows Flag. Just the Icon should be enough.
(In that way u can improve gradients,lines making them indeed looking better)

2)Just ReactOS word, changing its"O" to "3D" filling with a simplier Gradient than actual and with that 4 lines crossing:So mixing Icon and Word.

Thinking about it, a single atom does not represent a Reaction at all. Either a nuclear plant's cooling tower or a mushroom cloud would be more suitable.

Well...a 4-Rectangle-colour Flag doesnt represent Windows. So we dont need more than an Atom to represent React-ion

Comparing our Icon fits much better with the OS than Windows Flag...
