Help the New guy, Fallout 3 questions

Post by Pwag »

Hello Gents, is ReactOs at a point in it's development that it's a valid substitute for windows? How does installing new software work? Is it' 100% compatible? 75%?

Can it be installed and forgotten, or am I going to have to tinker with it all the time like I did with Ubuntu way back in the day?

Also, anyone have any luck getting Fallout 3 installed and running?

The only temptation I've had lately to get away from Linux....

Stupid games.

Thanks guys! I hope to dload t his and give it a try on my testing machine (2.4 ghz pentium III 256meg ram, 4gig hd)

Please bear in mind that ReactOS 0.3.6 is still in alpha stage, meaning it is not feature-complete and is not recommended for everyday use.
The very first thing that you can see on the front page ... so no you can`t play fallout 3 yet (and its not going to happen soon anyway).

I see it's still in it's alpha stages, I'm gonna keep tabs and try it anyway. My life has been too sedate lately anyway :)

Don't know how I missed that right on the first page. I st umbleupon'd to the middle of the website somewhere.

Take another look ... however you will be more successful with virtual machine instead of your real hardware.

Well, there is a chance that it may run, perhaps even accelerated (no software rendering :P ), but you won't have sound yet.

I'd love to implement audio support, but I'm still stuck on implementing USB support :P

"When will you bring the chairs?"
"You'll get the chairs when I get the money."
"That's fine," said Ostap without thinking.
"Money in advance," declared the fitter. "The money in the morning, the chairs in the evening; or, the money in the evening, the chairs the next morning."
