Why ReactOS runs so slowly?
Hi developers!
Why ReactOS runs so slowly? Can't you program well? What is the reason? Are you only focused on features?

It runs fast!

Yellow. Know the difference between Debug and Release ISOs? If you don't even know the difference between debug and release ISOs then this topic is dead for me. Try a Release Build and you will see.
And one suggestion: "Can't you program well?" be careful. Otherwise you will end like Betov and tsvetan. BANNED!

ReactOS is still in alpha stage, meaning it is not feature-complete and is recommended only for evaluation and testing purposes.

'Cause you're not working on 3DNow!/MMX/SSE-2-3 and x64 optimizations !Yellow wrote:Why ReactOS runs so slowly? Can't you program well? What is the reason?
Dunno how ? Start here !
You're not a developer ? Than try to involve someone that is able to.

Yes, you're right we're all sh*t programmers! Thanks for pointing this out, we hadn't realised! ReactOS will just pack up then. Sorry for wasting your valuable time, we'll just go die in a corner so it doesn't happen again and you can get on with writing your operating system in your spare time.Yellow wrote: Can't you program well?
forart more correct reactos developers don't need to do 3DNow!/MMX/SSE-2-3 optimizations. They are is gcc complier switchs that do them. x64 is waiting on a stable open source complier for windows.
This is were a lot of people get caught out with asm optimistations is really really simple to end up slower than the c complier with the right flags. Note current day gcc can even be set to check the performance of code to the cpu its currently running on and alter accordingly. C compliers are about flexibility its how people who hand turn solutions get caught out.
Yellow focus of Alpha is running not optimizing the heck out of it. So complier options to produce faster code are not enabled. Reactos is not slow really. But yes it could be faster.

Hi
Yellow
I am unlocking the three for it was not any real reason to look it.
some people overreact when it comes what other people optionen
here is my view
We can code very well code.
1. Optimze of ReactOS is not frist piror, the frist prior is getting it stable
2. each release have been faster but we still have long way getting it more optimze.
the issue u desc
it can be you using older video card. some older video card have high delay before you can write next pixel to the video memory. It is maybe
this is you problem. or maybe something in the version of ReactOS you tried. Can you tell me which version it was, which cpu, which graphic card. so we can figout why it act like it does on you machine ?
