Thanks for this *great* example of how completely useless this discussion is. Before I will allow ANYONE to further comment on the flags/regional settings issue, READ the bike shed story.

No, because then you'd just all flock to the next nearest centre of discussion, like the mailing list or IRC.

Hi

I'm still here but very very busy with my studies. I don't have enough time for creating icons at the moment. Just to say my opinion about the time icon, I think this is the best option:

Regional settings...I think the Vista globe+watch points out time zones. Which brings me to this picture as an idea for a regional settings icon. Or a globe "sliced" in 25, maybe.
Stop the world...I want to descend.

Kind of to revive this thread... mf, are you going to get a group together, or shall we continue creating icons?

Well, I emailed someone but he hasn't replied. I'll search for more people some other time, kind of busy at the moment.

To give a sign of life here:
Most of student like me has not enough time during semester to work additionally here. I visit often ReactOS website but have no time for much writing.

But there could be another cause. Few weeks ago I couldn't send a mail over the private message system here. Maybe you have the same problem. I always get an php error trying to send something.

I just sent Colin an email through the system and it got through to him. Try it again, but make sure the person is actually accepting emails through the system. Also, if it gives an error, copy it so we can take a look.

Hello everyone.
I'm a somewhat new member here(lurked for over a year, but I believe this is my first post). I've decided to drop in and give my $0.02 on this controversial topic. I know another idea to float around is probably the last thing you want, but I believe that this Might be able to do more help than harm.
I believe that an icon set from http://www.crystalxp.net/bricopack/en.htm should be considered. These icon sets are already built for windows and I THINK that they are gpl'd since they're based on Everaldo's wonderful work on the Crystal SVG and Crystal Clear icon sets for KDE. This would be and easy solution for Reactos' Icons.
To all artists who have been working hard on ROS icons I am not trying to dissuade you or to put down your hard work. In fact, I believe a totally original Icon set would be wonderful, and would make reactos very unique, The bottom line is there simply isn't much progress being made, and I think using a gpl'd, mature and tested windows icon set would be somewhere to get a good start.

So is there any change of seeing a default icon for at least text files and bmp images in version 0.3.4?

Hy,

hummm.. what is in the way to use png-icons ...
why not make compatible to use png-icons and iconsets as tar...
dont mus be the same as kde one... but in this was.. manny icons..
in a pack, with a explizit name ant this as icon/png-recource..
it shold automaticly converting in the right size how it need..
i think, the programmer can creating a routine who read
a tar.gz or bz2 out and copy it in a folder as theme.. so..

and this icons or png's ... and of corce why not a xcf as icons ?
jea, the gimp images where can make more as one tables or how
named it (so, i dont be so good in english ;) the forst it is a 8bit icon,
the secont a 16bit and next a 24 and 32 collored icon and this can
make in a xcf... i think.. oky, this was the idea with xcf files..
the gimplibary is GPL (open) ad therewith manny other things too..

take a look to kde-libs and the sourcecode of themes and png libary to
show it.. in the kde-sourcecode.. why not new ideas taken if you are look
in the Linux-sourcecodes.. why not taken from the linx-sourcecode ROS
is GPL and opensouce linux is the same..

many greetings
Blacky
