BUG FIX ;-) (2007-10-1) ROSi 0.9.1-The ReactOS Installer
Hi,
Bug fix: now the update notifications work on ReactOS and windows!
Website also updated.
Next version will come with new repositories formats,
FTP support and Uninstall/Delete features!
New version comes with update notifications.
Go to settings and change the update interval.
Set to 0 to disable (default).
DOES NOT REQUIRE HTGET ANYMORE 8)
(no more black windows)
Cool, found a video on YouTube

Just after a post about an application downloader, I created
ROSi.

Great! I got Firefox to install using this!
So hopefully more programs will be added to the list and there will be a human-readable way to download other files?
What is this program licensed under? And would you consider replacing the icons with the Crystal Clear ones (I believe you can do that if there is some mention of Crystal Clear in the About of the program.)

Not bad. Really nice. Perhaps you could continue the work an our "Download!" Tool with that, which is the official app right now.
ReactOS is still in alpha stage, meaning it is not feature-complete and is recommended only for evaluation and testing purposes.

First, michael, merge all your posts together. Copy and paste into a single post and delete the rest. We (or at least I) frown upon double posting here.
Second, RapidQ hasn't been updated since 2000, if what I've found is correct. And it's an interpreted language. Granted the interpreter is included with each executable, but since it's not C or C++, it won't be considered for inclusion with trunk.
Third, I often wonder if some of the things proposed on the forum are solutions looking for a problem. The issue of getting installers into ROS, be it downloading or otherwise, has been discussed with the devs. They're open to putting in a simple download utility through the command line, but have stated that some of the APIs needed are still not ready. As no one is actually working on the networking code at the moment, that's not surprising. Getting those APIs implemented would do a lot more than finding utilities that need them to work.
The idea of a "package manager" on ReactOS seems like people think it's the responsibility of the OS developers to handle and streamline all applications that can install on the OS. It's not. Linux and BSDs do it because of their own negligence of backwards compatibility. Microsoft rarely has to deal with third party source code and that's the way it should be. Application writers themselves should be the ones that do the heavy lifting.

I'm still taking a look at other Real compilers that may allowZ98 wrote:First, michael, merge all your posts together. Copy and paste into a single post and delete the rest. We (or at least I) frown upon double posting here.

inclusion into trunk
Or maybe just delete the entire post? I will simply continue to answer the original post.
I'm not interrested by inclusion. I think I might not even grant it
Concerning network ReactOS should already be able to download
files from command line HTGET for windows perfectly works.
Windows does not provide a package manager because of
licencing. Linux package managers has nothing to do with
compatibility.
Anyway it has always been painfull to download/install something
on ReactOS. You always need to use an ISO file or a
Virtual Drive.
Maybe this tiny tools will help beginners. 8)
At least for now, when it is so hard to get an internet browser onto ROS, a download manager program would be good, and we need a replacement to Download (this one looks like it might do the trick). Anyway, since there pretty much isn't any pre-installed software, it is nice to have an easy way to get some common free software.

Yes! In fact, it is not a ReactOS specific application .Nintendo Maniac 64 wrote:I know ReactOS is supposed to be compatible with Windows apps, but I still find it hilarious this app works perfectly on Windows 2k SP4; I even downloaded and installed abiword with it! XD
It can be used on any Windows 8) from 95 to Vista! (including ReactOS )

Hi there
I have created a german Language file for ROSi, but how can I upload it to my webserver for your download?
I had tried the FileZilla FTP program, but I cannot connect to my FTP server with it. Than I had tried to send an email to me with a web mailer, but I can't write a mail with it.
Is there any software for windows, who can open my virtual disk?
