64-bit? Dual-core?

Post by Paul Conway »

Is ReactOS a single-core 32-bit OS or will there eventually be a 64-bit version and support for multiple cores?

Currently a single core 32-bit. Will eventually, and this will take a few years, support 64-bit and multi-core. Not much point in porting an incomplete kernel and whatnot.

Stability? Compatibility?

:-P

First the basics, then the more advanced stuff, ok?

I'm not complaining. I am enthusiastic about the potential for ReactOS.

There is already multi processor support, so that is half of it.

I couldn't get multiprocessor support to work for hyper threading, i figured the developers knew it wouldn't work for this purpose yet.

There were some patchs in the SVN in regard to Hyperthreading.

Should be in 0.3.1 when it gets here.
