ReactOS 0.3.1

Post by noname224 »

Is it still coming out before December 31st, or is it delayed now due to the server being down before?

There is still a chance that we can release 0.3.1 in dez 2006

0.3.1 will not be as stable as 0.3.0, we have decided to release more often which will hopefully attract in the long term more people and generate more attentation for ReactOS. As ReactOS is in alpha state, there is no need to fix small glitches by spending a big amount of time for each release. Instead, ReactOS will be more likely to be release now once a months or every two months and will be as stable as the trunk is each months (of course only most stable trunk versions will be selected).

That sounds good. Especially I would like to see more often "little" new things in a more stable version as in the SVN's :)

it would also be nice to release a version one or two days before windows vista... even if reactos is still incomplete, this could give us some psychological advantage (that's marketing! )

Well I'm not a dev, but i would have to say late February, early March at this rate.

in the svn commits, it seems 0.3.1 was rebranched a few days ago.

Well, whatever the case, someone should take "ReactOS 0.3.1 will be released within a few days." off the main page, since it's been saying that since the beginning of the month.

I don't ask much with our Dev at this moment, I know they're busy about the regression thinggy, Maybe they should publish the "What's New with 0.3.1" first, so that we would know what to expect for this release.
