COPYRIGHT INFRINGMENT!! ;)

Neopets ugh.

Anyway I'm in favor of Reacty as it's gender/race/culture neutral and as long as he's not annoying as Clippy he'll be a familiar site to Windows users, so they'll know that ROS is comfortably familiar to Windows. He'll also be an easy assocation from ROS <> Reacty, they both have the same logo, unlike say the Penguin which has nothing to do with Linux.

Reacty would work as a replacement for Clippy in an explorer replacement like search. But you need a real animal for the mascot, and it needs to be cute ;) Frog are not cute!

Err, other then Linus liking him, what does a flighless pengiun have to do with a UNIX(R) clone?

Anyway, that's going to be too detailed to fit it a standard cursor.

Little Correction

Post by oiaohm »

Linux's Tux was chosen because Linus liked penguins Smile There are several articles on the history of Tux in the net, just google.
Nop Tux was selected because this cute little bird dared to take a bite out of Linus happened here in Australia yep even made the news. This is a good think to remember Tux has bite.

One fix to this problem might be for the lead developers go to the zoo and and have a look at the cute animals and see what one takes a bite/scratch out then this becomes a list of mascots to choose from.

Hmm...
Welcome to to the homepage of "Hexley" the platypus. Hexley is the mascot for Apple's open source operating system Darwin. This mascot had its genesis on the Darwin-Developers mailing list. Various proposals were put forward by the members of the list, and after much lively discussion everyone settled on a Platypus.
Is it just me, or is history repeating itself??
