I havent voted for any wallpaper listed here. They all do look unprofessional and uncomfortable. They all are far far far away to look something really professional like the XP Standard Wallpaper. However Storm is quite OK but still to unprofessional looking. If you really want a photo *nature* wallpaper.
Then i would say that this one is much better than any listed above

Sincerly, i don't like nature images on my desktop.
I prefer artistic ones.
It would be great to ask to some "pro" designers (such as Ryan Bliss, Maik Prinz, Lennart Töråsen ...) to build some ROS-specific walls
Anyway check out (and update) Wallpapers on the wiki, thanks !

You should be able to cut out all the bloat by recompressing PNGs with OptiPNG and PNGOUT (they work most effectively in that order). Both tools are PNG optimisers, which are designed to reduce the size of PNG files, without losing image data.
That said, there isn't really any point in converting JPEGs to PNGs, because it will almost certainly just increase their file size. You can usually save a bit on JPEG file sizes by losslessly converting them to progressive images, which you can do with jpegtran -progressive.
Would it be hard to add JPG or PNG support for the desktop backgrounds? It would save space on the CD if you didn't have to include huge, uncompressed BMPs.

This one has a little higher resolution: http://www.reactos.se/wallpaper/DSCN2858.jpgtemarez wrote:Agree.ThePhysicist wrote:I really like storm, but I voted for Lake, because the colors fit better for ROS I think and storm is from kde-look, so it's kinda "stolen"
Does anyone have dirct link to full-sized Lake?
If you want, I can post one with higher resolution than the one above when I get home in a few days.
I know I'm a bit late but what about this shot of mine:
[ external image ]
It is a mixture between some the to favourites. (kinda)
It is without any processing, so it is way too dark etc...
The original has a resolution of 2500x.... pixels.
