error when trying to install

I downloaded & tried to install this O/S last night and it would not even begin the installation. Some type of error message at bootup regarding not being able to access the drive. Error message to long to write down and no access to printer.

Is this possibly due to the fact that I already have Dapper Drake Ubuntu O/S installed on the hard drive ?

Should I try wiping the drive and then retry installation ?

You cannot install ROS if you have Linux installed.
Linux uses ext or Reiser FS. You need to add a FAT partition
you can install ROS on.

Thanks. Also, I was reading elsewhere that this O/S could not be installed on a SATA drive (which mine is). Is that correct ?

Yes, you need a IDE drive. Anyway, you can install
ROS under Linux using QEMU
