Maybe this guy has some insight on how to speed up the GUI design. His work is pretty amazing for a one man campaign to extend Win 3.x and DOS. Reminds me alot of the SEAL project.

Those are the sytem requirements of Calmira XP (all versions).

Operating System: DOS 6.* (or compatible) with Microsoft Windows 3.1(1) (for Workgroups)
Processor: 80386
Memory: 4 Mb
Hard Drive: About 2 Mb of free space
A mouse
Your videocard must be capable of showing more than 32000 colors.

DOSLFN-driver for long filename support (in Calmira XP 4.0)

Calmira XP 4.0

* Added support for long filenames (')
* Updated Desktop Properties dialog (')
* My Documents-icon on the desktop (')
* XP Taskbar and startmenu
* The XP-buttons have now full button functionality

(') Code from Calmira LFN

my initial response was going to be the same (Calmira again, 16bit etc...) but I think the point here may be that this is a modification of the original project, if the author can do this to Calmira maby they would like to and be quite capable of doing some good work with reactos explorer aswell. Has anybody asked?

Well, you can contact them and see if they are interested, just try to represen ReactOS as good as possible, if you contact someone in ReactOS name you represent many people.
