Re: My ReactOS Wishlist
POSIX support is very optional. And the name was KjK_Hyperion ^^
ReactOS is still in alpha stage, meaning it is not feature-complete and is recommended only for evaluation and testing purposes.

Re: My ReactOS Wishlist
My wish: More system that ReactOS will install on - as I understood there is only one official supported system (that the devs use) at this moment.
If the amount of systems that are capable of running ReactOS grows, the amount of users/testers will grow.
At this moment I have no physical system that will even succeed in installing ReactOS, making it impossible for me to test ReactOS.

Re: My ReactOS Wishlist
If you are keen to test ReactOS on real hardware and not in a VM, then I suggest that you buy a 10 - 15 year old computer, one that has PS2 mouse and keyboard. I have been testing with second computers for years.tverweij wrote:At this moment I have no physical system that will even succeed in installing ReactOS, making it impossible for me to test ReactOS.

Please keep the Windows classic 9x/2000 look and feel.

Re: My ReactOS Wishlist
I wish these:
MSP, PCX, GIF, JPEG, JPEG2000, PNG, TIFF support for image files on ReactOS.
ReactOS icons are completed.
Windows XP and Windows 2003 themes full support.
DIB engine is cleaning bugs.
When, people are looking good ReactOS, people uses ReactOS.

I've completed most of the icons
Themeing is pretty good.

Re: My ReactOS Wishlist
Do you mean ootb support? So, why MSP? Even PCX seems more or less questionable for ootb support.ercanersoy wrote:MSP, PCX, GIF, JPEG, JPEG2000, PNG, TIFF support for image files on ReactOS.

Re: My ReactOS Wishlist
It means "Out of the box" - by default, without any addons or plugins.

Re: My ReactOS Wishlist
windowscodecs.dll supports gif, jpg and png oob already. Rest is not supported by Windows, too and thus is optional is of no priority.

Re: My ReactOS Wishlist
Of course for compatibility, but for compatibility with what? MSP is around 30 years old and afaik the only program that used it was Paint from Windows Versions before 3.0. PCX is also out of generalercanersoy wrote:PCX and MSP support for compatibility. What is ootb?
use for more than a few years.
As a note, both Windows and ReactOS/Wine also support TIFF.EmuandCo wrote:windowscodecs.dll supports gif, jpg and png oob already. Rest is not supported by Windows, too and thus is optional is of no priority.
Re: My ReactOS Wishlist
I think the original version of Transport Tycoon Deluxe (not OpenTTD) did its screenshots only in PCX format. That's one example I can think of right now which could be used by ROS. Still, there are many other things missing which are more important.
Re: My ReactOS Wishlist
TrueVision Targa (.tga) is 30+ years old, yet still widely used and supported by all primary graphical viewer/editor applications. The basic specification is just slightly harder than .bmp. I don't see any reason not to include it.

Re: My ReactOS Wishlist
To add one more item onto this wishlist: the X PixMap (.xpm) format is used primarily by the X window system as distributed with most Unix-like OSes. It could potentially be simple enough to implement to view in the default image viewer, if desired.

Re: My ReactOS Wishlist
windowscodecs is a Wine synched dll. So it's up to Wine if they add stuff which is not Windows compatible and no windows app will use at all because it's should not be there at all.
