Wait, does this mean the team is still going to do USB devices and audio support before releasing 0.4.0? Those are pretty hefty tasks.

At least 3 of the 5 on that list will likely be here from my personal opinion. They might work on sound regressions. I hope that USB support would be fixed, at least to where it won't crash on boot. But like Z98 said, that list shouldn't be construed as actual plans.

As of r64596, the new shell has been.... COMPLETELY MERGED INTO THE TRUNK!

Hmm, I thought I was pretty clear when I said, in the merge commit:

I tried to install several revisions into Virtualbox to try the new shell, but all crash at the same point. After finishing the installation and configuration the OS reboots, but every time it tries to boot it shows a BSOD. The message says this: "CONFIG_INITIALIZATION_FAILED".

Hm. Seems like there are still some IFS problems left after the disabled hacks in there... Try to format the VHD with a gparted ISO and then install ROS normally. Or just dump the HDD and make a new one.
