Free RDP Server Development?

Post by Craig »

I'm interested in working on a free RDP server for ReactOS and windows machines where such a thing would be useful (all the ones where it's not supported 98, 2000, etc).

I've googled around and tried to find some information on the topic, apparently no one has started working on a _server_ yet. Though, I might have missed it.

I'm curious as to whether this has been discussed, or what information and insight ReactOS veterans might have on the topic?

Every once in a while this topic comes up in the IRC channel. Everyone seems to agree that it would be good to have, but no work has been done on this yet. So I'd say go for it.

Google for rdesktop. There is a Windows port you can base your RDP server on.

Hello, I didn't see your post until now, sorry about that, there is an idea project about an RDP-server in the wiki, look here: http://reactos.com/wiki/index.php/React ... l_Services.
It is a beginning of a project to create a Terminal Service for ReactOS, you are encouraged to join and give your vision of such a system.
You said you didn't find anything like an RDP server, but there is, the xrdp is actually a project aiming for this, look at the links in the wiki.
Here is some threads worth reading:
