gnuwin32

Post by jmccay »

I am downloading the gnuwin32 programs using the wget batch files. I was wondering if everyone else keeps the mingw bins in a seperate director from the gnuwin32 bins? Or do you mix them? What are the advantages / disadvantages of both?

Thank you for you patience as I try to compile various parts of reactos.

Sepreate directorys. I have my reasons.

Somethings in gnuwin32 not always helpful. I really do mean that.

Tools from there are only normally used as a last resort.

Once mixing into one directory geting them back apart can be a fight.

Note this will mean altering mingws gcc command line to add directorys pointing to gnuwin32 dlls and includes if you are using these. Advantage you can test and build clean and free of gnuwin32 when required.

This is a no contest. There is really only one correct way.
