Is there a way to make an app for reactos without using the Win32 API

Post by Tanner9078 »

I'm building the app with the reactos source code and i hate using the Win32 API. I think it's really messy and very hard to use. I prefer using wxwidgets instead

According to this https://www.codeproject.com/Articles/52 ... sharp-on-R Code::Blocks works in ReactOS and according to this https://www.codeblocks.org/features/ Code::Blocks uses wxWidgets.

So why not give it a go, but remember that ReactOS is still alpha and prone to bsod.
Please keep the Windows classic 9x/2000 look and feel.
The layman's guides - debugging - bug reporting - compiling - ISO remaster.
They may help you with a problem, so do have a look at them.

Of course you can program on ReactOS and Windows without using the Win32 APIs but I suspect you specifically want to access the functionality they provide. Would you like to state which functionality you specifically require?

If your question is "does wxwidgets function on ReactOS?" then please state that and your request will be clear and therefore easier to respond to.

If that is your question then I would suggest downloading and attempting to install. Perhaps then you could test it and provide feedback on your results here?

If you are new to ReactOS ? Read this in full before asking any questions - it may assist you now and it may help to answer some of your future questions - https://reactos.org/wiki/ReactOS_FAQ#User_FAQ
