More compatible device drivers

Post by creeper »

I use translations and can't speak English well.
sorry.
I just started building ReactOS, but I think I'm using it and have a driver shortage.
Can I find drivers that are as wide compatible as Windows?
Or is there a project that aims for it?
If so, please let me know.
Thank you :D

If you are not comfortable with English, there are other language sections, maybe your native language is one of them?
To give you an answer, the project is in development status and lot of drivers/applications/features are not implemented yet or not working for the moment. The ultimate goal of the project is to provide an open source OS, entirely compatible to Windows (kernel/drivers/libraries/applications interchangeable each other), and made documentations to learn how it works. The current target is not the latest Windows, it's "Windows Server 2003/XP", but forward compatibility and new features are in progress.

If you have other questions, there is a FAQ:
https://reactos.org/wiki/ReactOS_FAQ

PS: I'm not English native too, I hope, I was understandable enough.

Yes, on the Internet; just search for XP compatible drivers for your hardware.

Be warned that they may not install and if they install, they may cause a bsod. But having said that, they may install and work perfectly OK.
Please keep the Windows classic 9x/2000 look and feel.
The layman's guides - debugging - bug reporting - compiling - ISO remaster.
They may help you with a problem, so do have a look at them.

That's good.
And another question came up.
What can we do to contribute to the completion of ReactOS?
Thank you.

So, can you make a driver after WindowsXP version?
