'Preloaded with QEMU' not opening on qemu on Linux

Post by nitrofurano » Fri Feb 25, 2011 7:53 pm

hi!
i'm trying to load ReactOS.vmdk image from http://downloads.sourceforge.net/reacto ... L-qemu.zip (http://www.reactos.org/en/download.html) and there is no boot.sh file - the boot.bat is too focused on ms-windows (or ms-dos), which ms-windows i'm not using from around 5 years ago or more...

it's displaying stuff like:

guest@asus:~/Downloads/ReactOS-0.3.12-REL-QEMU$ bash boot.bat
boot.bat: line 1: @echo: command not found
: No such file or directory
qemu: could not open disk image ReactOS.vmdk: No such file or directory

or:

guest@asus:~/Downloads/ReactOS-0.3.12-REL-QEMU/files$ qemu -L . -m 128 -hda ReactOS.vmdk
Could not open option rom 'vapic.bin': No such file or directory
pci_add_option_rom: failed to find romfile "pxe-rtl8139.bin"

how can i fix this situation?

and a request for the ReactOS packagers: please consider other host operating systems else ms-windows, like Linux, Haiku, OSX, etc., when distributing emulation images for qemu or vmware

thanks! :)
