(If at first you don't succeed, try, try again...)
So I figured out how to get FreeLoader to install. And how to get ReactOS to not hang on boot. My USB mouse doesn't work by default; I expected this, it's not a problem.
Unfortunately, my laptop's integrated keyboard does not work either. I was not expecting this, and it is a problem - I'm pretty sure the keyboard, whatever it is, doesn't use USB. As a result I'm left with absolutely no input mechanism.
What can I do to get my keyboard working?

Which model is your laptop?
Some lappies uses one internal USB connector to connect its Keyboard to the mobo.I have seen some, and some guys here has discovered (looking at the technical characteristics of the mobo) that one USB wasnt appearing outside resulting it was internal and used by the keyboard.

Re: Laptop keyboard not working
I tried ROS 0.3.10 on my Thinkpad T23. I had similar problems with the point/mouse and the keyboard. I just thought it was my older computer wearing out(?). I doubt it had an internal USB mouse and keyboard connection.

Re: Laptop keyboard not working
FWIW my laptop is an Aspire 3680-2633. Seems like it probably uses USB for the keyboard, it's got 3 ports but lsusb lists 6.
(Although, the keyboard doesn't show up on lsusb... Weird.)

Does it have a fused plug - I have bought some chinese imports in the past with very dodgy looking 'mini' mains plug and no fuse
