Post by WooJoo »

normaly i use a shell calld "litestep" with my winXP since i cant stand the normal interface where i cant costumise every popup menue to
get faster what i want. my question is = is it possible to run later such shells on ROS or are there even plans for creating something similar to costumise the ROS userland far more then any win allows its user to? thx for any answers ^^

of course you can. Not yet, but in the future, as soon as shell32 is feature complete enough, yeah, why not...
ReactOS is still in alpha stage, meaning it is not feature-complete and is recommended only for evaluation and testing purposes

I'm sure a few people have tried using LiteStep or other shell replacements in the past, but I don't recall any of them working.

Try the various trunk builds in a virtual machine every now and again and see how successful you are. As Emuandco said, even if it doesn't work right now it will eventually.
