supported drivers and/or hardware?

Post by madkid »

I was wondering if this harware would be supported in ReactOS.

video: ATI Rage 128 VR AGP
sound: Creative Audio

It all runs on my Intel Pentium 3 with 450mghz on a gateway pc.

I know that it will work on my hds. Well, one of them. I'd have to format the other.

I don't know wether you plan to use ROS for testing only or as an everyday-OS, but ReactOS isn't ready for 'normal' use yet. It's still in Alpha, meaning that it has many functions unimplemented, and might not be stable/reliable. On some pc's it doesn't even boot... But keep an eye on it, it's getting somewhere :)

ROS support DB

Post by Jaix »

When it comes to Graphics adaptors and you try a configuration that isn't included in the Support DB and you use the vendors own drivers (not the ROS VESA driver) It is really good if you report it back to the ROS support DB so everyone can se your experiences.
Audio is not supported very far, there is some support, but it doesn't come without registry hacking, so when it comes to your sound card you have to rely on sb16 compatibility and NT4 drivers if I recall right.
