Completeness of regional and language options cp app

How complete is the regional and language options control panel app? specifically the way xp can switch between language input method editors by pressing shift+alt.

(I have my user accounts set up for switching between english and japanese)

Currently, it's possible to change the (interface) language (reboot requiered).
Changing keyboard mapping, what ever is not possible with the current cpl.

I don't think xp changes keyboard maps to do it. Only Unicode enabled programs can take advantage of the way xp does it. It seems to be more of a program (called "input method editor) that watches the keyboard input and guesses what the user is inputing and then changes what's been typed. ("ko" changes to こ when "o" is pressed)

Are you talking about the IME?

Well, we need to implement some API's before we can start working with the IME.
We also need a Japanese font for ReactOS too.
Also, the keymap for the Japanese keyboard is not complete.
