ReactOS in Qemu

Post by noname224 »

Hey, I'm using ReactOS in Qemu, and I want to try to run some of my programs in it. How do I do this? I can't access the hard drives on my real computer, and I can't download any files either because ibrowser crashes and the Firefox setup crashes as soon as I click "Next".

Burn them on CD, make a CD Image or use virtual LAN connection. I think theres a app for editing QEMu Drives, too. Ask google about that.

This is more a Qemu-specific question ... I don't know.

The app to edit HD-images is called "winimage". It works very well (very fast).

I have googled some time ago, I found the following:
1.) DiskExplorer
It's a simple app, capable of editing images, no need for a driver / mounting, but it's pretty ugly, sometimes there are strange characters shown. But it can edit fat32. (manual HD->Format=AT???->select Partition)
Can be found here: http://hp.vector.co.jp/authors/VA013937 ... index.html
Sorry I don't know what lang that is. ;-)

2.) filedisk
http://www.acc.umu.se/~bosse/
It's a driver for filedisks

networking of QEMU

QEMU automatically assing 10.0.2.15 (you may double confirm by ipconfig).

For Web browsing
- ibrowser doesn't come up even successfully install the ActiveX control
- Firefox is wiered. very difficult to type URL properly. it always repeat more characters you type e.g. wwwww.msnnnnn.comomom etc. Even luckily type the correct URL, it is extremely slow.

I'd like to try opera

.co.jp?

I'm going to take a wild guess at Japanese. ^^

Is there a port of Lynx for Windows?

If ANYTHING's going to work, it should be Lynx or links. . .

To make Qemu faster you should install the (non-free) Qemu Accelerator Module which is available on the author's site. To install, unpack the .tar.gz (for example with 7-zip), right-click on kqemu.inf and select install. Then run "net start kqemu" from a command line. You need Administrator rights to do all of this.
