ReactOS LiveCD (Release version 0.14.3) BSoD

Post by ERDaNtER »

ReactOS forum,

Tried ReactOS LiveCD release version 0.14.3 off of a USB 2.0 drive on Kohjinsha PM MID.

Clicked "LiveCD", loaded a few things ("Loading boot drivers, etc") and then immediately bluescreened afterwards. The bluescreen technical information is: *** STOP: 0x0000007E (0x80000003, 0xB09566F2, 0xF77DF194, 0xF77DEE24)

System specifications:
Intel Atom Z510 1.10 GHz
Intel GMA 500
512mb RAM
16gb SSD (No idea what type of drive it is, presume to be SATA)

Debug log:

There are a few things you can try:
1. The latest build.
2. If you get a BSoD, then at the prompt, type bt.
3. Try the ramdisc method.
Please keep the Windows classic 9x/2000 look and feel.
The layman's guides - debugging - bug reporting - compiling - ISO remaster.
They may help you with a problem, so do have a look at them.

1. With the latest build a ReactOS load screen appeared before BSoD unlike in OP.

BSoD technical information this time is: *** STOP: 0x0000007E (0xC0000006,0x80543866,0xF7385128,0xF7384E2C)

And newly:

*** ntoskrnl.exe - Address 80543866 base at 80400000, DateStamp 61000d22

Kernel Debugger: Serial port not found!

2. Latest build bluescreens or stops after at a fatal system error before it gets to the bit were you can type bt.

3. Will try ramdisk only if none of the information provided above is helpful, having trouble making sense of the guide since it seems to be missing pieces. (For instance, what is RufusNo2 screenshot?)

The "Rufus No2 screenshot" refers to the screenshot image Rufus No2, which you will find lower down the page.

The ramdisk method is for installing, so you can forget that.

i have a HP Notebook - 15-ay026na 12/22/2016
i have tested reactos-livecd-0.4.15-dev-2953-gcb9b538-x86-gcc-lin-dbg if i Open Rufus, selected the ISO and the clicked flash then boot the Notebook i get a BSOD but if i create my bootable USB drive using the ram boot option the system boots withe no problems

i recommend you use the USB-RAM boot option https://reactos.org/wiki/LiveUSB
