For others to help you, you need to supply as much information as is relevant.

What version of ReactOS are you using?
Please keep the Windows classic 9x/2000 look and feel.
The layman's guides - debugging - bug reporting - compiling - ISO remaster.
They may help you with a problem, so do have a look at them.

Supposing you are using one of these "reactos-bootcd-0.4.15-dev-XXX-gXXXXXx86-gcc-lin-dbg" ISOs,
reboot the bootcd and when it says "Press any key to boot from the ReactOS Media" press F10 a certain number of times.
The bootloader then prompts you for the ROS directory (don't enter anything, just press ENTER) and then prompts you for some boot options. In that screen, enter the options:

Code: Select all

/SOS /DEBUG /DEBUGPORT=SCREEN /SIFOPTIONSOVERRIDE
then validate and boot the setup.
If I think correctly, your "hang" is because ROS silently broke into the kernel debugger (reminder that you are testing debug builds), but was waiting for input from the serial port.
If this is what actually happens, with the boot options from above you should be able to see the kernel debugger and interact with it (it works only with PS/2 keyboards iirc.), and you can view the previous debug messages with the

Code: Select all

dmesg
command, and take a backtrace with the

Code: Select all

bt
command.

Hi ...

Trying the latest dev-ISO, now ...

I’m getting Fatal System Error: 0x00000069, etc.
<ntoskrnl.exe: 0006DD13> and so on ...

I’m using a Buffalo blu-ray optical drive and I’ve got Windows 10 x64 on the SSD-drive, that I’m about to install ReactOS on .
I’ve also got macOS Big Sur installed on a separate SSD-drive .

You have got BSOD 0x69 "IO1_INITIALIZATION_FAILED" https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/window ... ion-failed ,
meaning that your boot drive (your external USB blu-ray drive) is not recognized. Which is expected since USB support is work in progress, and also I'm not sure whether the OS would need extra support for blu-ray.
