LiveCD: BSOD

Post by ffcc » Thu Jan 03, 2019 4:34 pm

Hi,

I was intrigued by your project of a free windows-like OS and decided to give it a shot.

I have tested the following LIVECD versions in my computer and they won't work (booting from usb):

ReactOS-0.4.10-live
reactos-livecd-0.4.12-dev-276-g60f018a-x86-gcc-lin-rel (nighty build 60f018a)

When choosing LiveCD(Debug) it freezes at "SWENUM.SYS".

With LiveCd(Screen) I get to a debug console and i can type 'bt'. Here is the output:

My specs:

Laptop TOSHIBA Satellite A100-497
CPU: Intel® Core™2 Duo T5600
Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG
Video chipset Intel® 945PM Express
RAM: 4.096 MB DDR2 (533 MHz)

I hope this information help.

Thanks.

Unfortunately, you have come across a problem that many other before you have had. Currently, ROS is unable to boot from USB devices.

From https://reactos.org/wiki/Installing_ReactOS:
ReactOS is not able to boot from USB devices yet.

Your best bet, if you don't have access to an optical drive and a blank CD, is to try VGal's builds: http://vgal.ru.com/reactos-0-4-10-new-usb/

Oh, thanks.

Are there plans to make it bootable from USB?
