[Ubuntu] Can't setup ReactOS

I made a bootable USB for ReactOS, but when I try to enter my BIOS, it just displays the GRUB boot menu. I have a Toshiba Satellite and have already tried to find help in askUbuntu with no help at all.

I am at a complete loss. Does anyone have any idea how or where I can find help for this?

Hello,

Can you explain how you created the bootable USB stick ? ReactOS is supposed to come with its own bootloader, not with Grub.

However, seems there are problems with USB stack right now, so booting ReactOS with a bootable USB key could not work at all (and if it's the case, you can post an issue on JIRA :))

If you really want to try (I haven't tested USB Booting lately, but I also haven't heard that it's working yet), I recommend using Rufus to prepare the USB drive. It's Windows software, so you'll need a Windows environment to do it. I have no idea if Rufus+WINE would work on Ubuntu (it does some pretty low-level stuff).

@ sdever I used UNetbootin to make it. I don't know anything about GRUB or why it wont allow me to enter BIOS, but it won't setup ReactOS either way.

Is this a newer laptop with UEFI boot? If that's the case you'll need to disable secure boot and find the option to boot your USB drive in legacy mode. Though, if that's the case you'll find ReactOS's hardware support likely pretty lacking on that new of hardware.
