First, good job on the repository and software manager!

I tried installing opera and also firefox 29, both appeared to be doing good until they got to the end of the installation when everything froze. Nothing would respond except ctrl alt del to bring up task manager. This is not a support request. I'm just posting it here as FYI for the developers.

It would be helpful if you stated:
1. The trunk revision number or release number you have installed.
2. Is it in a VM or in real hardware.
3. The computer's specification.

Note:
The 0.3.16 release is now too old for any meaningful testing!
There are only a few developers that come to the forum!

Unfortunately, newcomers to ReactOS.org do not know that. A newcomer who is familiar with the common practices of open source projects will usually try a version called "release" first.

Whatever happened to that every-two-months release tempo that Alex Ionescu spoke of in Montreal last year?

Preparing the upcoming Community Edition release probably consumes all the time available for preparing a more up-to-date ReactOS release.

I realize the project developers work hard and want to keep their focus on what they are now doing instead of allowing their attention to be stolen by every forum post. Vicmarcal and Z98 seem to be taking the really big problems to the rest of the devs. People who want help with bugs do have an obligation to try to document and report the bugs they have found. However, how to do that is neither easy nor obvious to newcomers to the ReactOS.org site, even to newcomers who are experienced bug reporters to other open source projects.

Edit 22 Aug 14: add missing text "on what".

Internal resistance to doing another point release. We could do one easily, but some people want the next release to be 0.4.0 and I refuse to sign off on that until certain milestones are met.

What about specify the release date on the donwload page and warn to use trunk builds before report bugs?

In that page "trunk builds" is the last voice with a little description that is not clear for normal users.

a link "ReactOS is evolving every day, check the last unreleased version" that point to "trunk builds" will work.
