How to bookmark a search in Jira?

Post by SomeGuy »

I wanted to bookmark a search for a specific type of bug in Jira, but when I do it comes up blank after I close and re-open the browser. Apparently it does not put the search terms in the URL like a normal search program but uses something session related instead.

Is there any way to do this in Jira now?

I really miss Bugzilla. So far Jira feels "enterprisey". One of those things that looks all fancy but is ultimately slow, bloated, and useless. :(

It is indeed session-oriented (if you are logged on Jira, just save your query as a filter). But if you want to give a link to your search to somebody else, you can create a permanent link to the search by clicking on the Magnet-like button just at the left of the "Share / Views / Tools" buttons, just after having executed the search :

By clicking on this button, your search page is updated, and the URL is now the one that you can copy to bookmark it (on the screenshot it is the one written in the status bar : it is the target of the Magnet button).
