USB Storage Devices

Post by Rime »

Are they supported or not atm ?

My experience:
ReactOS r57567 (installed from cd-r to physical computer hdd) with Kingston DataTraveler SE9
- Debug output of startup with USB device connected in: http://pastebin.com/0Zymehac
- 5 minutes, 10 minutes...
- Ok, pulling out Kingston: http://pastebin.com/Jsh1bXZq bluescreen
- Reboot without Kingston
- Connecting device while system is fully loaded: http://pastebin.com/jkGaiQA9
- Kingston shows up in device manager as working but at the same time drop down list option is set to Don't use this device and when i pick Use this device, it changes status to code 14. So tried to reboot and exact the same problem like in the beginning (nothing happens after URB_FUNCTION_GET_DESCRIPTOR_FROM_DEVICE)

Wow. You did pretty well to get the OS to install on a real computer and recognize a USB device. The best answer I can give you is that you got a lot farther than most people do.
Today entirely the maniac there is no excuse with the article. Get free BeOS, DOS, OS/2, and Windows games at RGB Classic Games.

There were some USB-related commits in the recent days, not sure if they'd help in any way. Could you try again with latest build?

Nice logs. I have the same stuck at URB_FUNCTION_GET_DESCRIPTOR_FROM_DEVICE when booting FROM usb-stick PatriotXT. This bug should get high attention by our USB developer and should be fixed soon. This is old bug, and it's time to fix it. Fixing it can allow us to boot from most usb devices.

This bug "may" be fixed soon. Never assume that age indicates the priority of a bug, especially if the devs that might work on it are on hiatus.
