lucractius watch your comments.

Colour will come once we have theming worked out. I or maybe Lucractius will place up theme competions. Ie to run a theme engine worked out I am not having the time. Growl Accountancy software where the base ball bat so I can go and beat the crap out of the old computer case. Yes I do have anger management issues at times.

in reply to someone on page 1 saying to borrow less from MS and Apple, in this topic there's an alternative im making for the vista wallpaper:
http://www.reactos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1278
there are also some other things, but the vista thing is the most important one to myself.

When ReactOS will be close to version 1.0, Astonshell will probably be compatible with it. So no need to implement something the majority of people will see as unnecessary eye-candy...

There as been already too much discussion concerning the look'n feel of the User Interface IMHO.
It should look as "windoish" as possible for the following reasons:
The goal is to create a windows replacement. Any new user should be able to have a familiar feeling when switching from Windows to ReactOS. If not, the project may loose some potential users.
Any company wishing to use ReactOS in a corporate environment would simply run-away if the UI is too different for the standard Windows one. Companies just want a simple and efficient UI, something profesional that the Windows 2000 UI we have now achieves perfectly.
Theme/shell/UI modifyiers like WindowsBlinds, Astonshell, or anything else will surely work in the future, so you will be free to do whatever you want anyway...

Discussing about icon designs, wallpapers, color theme is good, i'd even say it is necessary. But we should stop 40 message long discussions concerning any big modification of the UI, because anyway, this will not happen (I hope), unless someone makes a distro. Remember ReactOS is a Windows clone, User Interface included  .

You don't have to be sorry for that :)
Anyway, i think that the logo is too gaudy.
The boot screen is OK, but under Windows XP you can only use 16 colours, though i don't know whether ReactOS also has this limitation. Also, i think there should be a bit more colour in it, it's too grey like this.
I'm afraid i have to say that i absolutely don't like the login screen. a grey background with that really really colourful logo, that really doesn't look good. I don't like the Win2k-style login anyway, why don't you make it more like on Windows XP (where you have the user icons you can click on)?
The wallpaper is OK, but do you have the copyright for that photo?
