Lautus - ReactOS visual style

Re: Elegant Black - ReactOS Concept
Here comes fourth concept. Something, that is actually more able to become a visual style (I know, that this sounds quite... ingramaticall, but I've forgot how I should translate that to English). Less blur, less glow, no shadow and no transparency.

It's less modern than the previous ones, but it's now more possible to make a visual style out of it without additional changes to UXTheme's code.
Naums, your wallpapers would look great with it, but... Could you give me a version with this glow etc. but to have it behind the logo, so the ROS'es logo is untouched (if you understand what I mean).

Re: Elegant Black - ReactOS Concept
Out of pure boredom I've started to work on visual style, based on my concept. Maybe this style could be included, when ReactOS got's theming. Anyone from dev (or design) team here is intrested in my work?
Re: Elegant Black - ReactOS Concept
i love it !
Re: Elegant Black - ReactOS Concept
@Pisarz
Great theme. You won me over with that wallpaper. I`d love to see it as ReactOS main one.

Re: Elegant Black - ReactOS Concept
Would be great to have this as the new and shiny default theme for when themes support goes into trunk!
One remark though, the ROS logo button in the lower left looks very pixelated and ugly, there needs to be a simplified version, so i made one:
http://www.pasteall.org/pic/show.php?id=16887
(It's similar to the one used in the "ReactOS Crew" logo)
And here is a link to the icon's PNG file with transparency:

Re: Elegant Black - ReactOS Concept
I've forgot about it for few weeks actually, but I've just got some progress today and it's how it actually looks like now. It's a W.I.P. and it's based a bit on Luna Inspirat. Sorry for not changing wallpaper to this epic one from concept, but I've applied this visual style only to make those screenshots.

(btw. I've just read your post Pesho, when tried to post those screens - your icon looks great and I'm going to replace current one)

Re: Elegant Black - ReactOS Concept
It would make a kickass default theme
Also, tell me if you need a bigger/smaller version of the icon, i have it as a SVG vector here.

Re: Elegant Black - ReactOS Concept
I've tried to resize it myself and it doesn't look pixelated, but it would be great if you could resize it to 18px.
And here comes a screenshot.

As you can see here, I've based my theme on Luna Inspirat (yes, I haven't replaced the checkbox yet) cause it's easier for me, as it's my first theme. And Luna Inspirat is open-source, so I see no legal problems here.

One sec. Is this ReactOS with Theme applied?or Windows with the Theme applied?Pisarz wrote:I've tried to resize it myself and it doesn't look pixelated, but it would be great if you could resize it to 18px.

It looks great!!
Re: Elegant Black - ReactOS Concept
18px seems way too small to me (the latest screenshot is perfect!), but here you go anyway:

Also, it's probably windows... ReactOS can't skin the taskbar yet without explorer_new i think.
One more thing - perhaps the close/minimize/maximize icons have too much "glow" around them - something that blurs out the nice pixel-perfect button behind them. It's most obvious in the "Colors" window.

Re: Elegant Black - ReactOS Concept
vicmarcal, Pesho,
It's Windows. ROS wouldn't run Paint.NET I think.
And here comes another screenshot:

I've fixed windows controls and combo box (it should look more like in the concept). Unfortunately, I can't skin menu or edit box itself. I think that menu background is available in Vista/7 UXTheme, not XP.

Isnt Menu background be able to be changed in the Desktop->Propertie options?Pisarz wrote:vicmarcal, Pesho,

Re: Elegant Black - ReactOS Concept
You can change the color, but you can't choose a background image. Btw. when I'll finish it, I would need someone to test it on ROS (build with theming won't work on VirtualBox, and this VMware is too slow on this PC).
Re: Elegant Black - ReactOS Concept
You will have testers for sure.Is it almost finished?Pisarz wrote:You can change the color, but you can't choose a background image. Btw. when I'll finish it, I would need someone to test it on ROS (build with theming won't work on VirtualBox, and this VMware is too slow on this PC).
