Also, in its present stage, it can't be run for longer than a few minutes/seconds before it destroys the walls of its reactor.

@vicmarcal: Do you have a transparent BG version of your atom? (PNG-24) Because a gradient BG is hard to make into a wallpaper.

eehh maby.. try it easyly *bg*
you can let it so rendering to have light(easy) of shadow by side and then set it under the picture, cut the "sombrero" off and make a lil' hole on the ligtes place make more cuting pictures with bigger/smaller holes
and make it more flat behind of it make diffrent transpery of these flat so do you become a 3d feeling if you have the atome get a light shadow too on right side ;) and get at last a light shadow of the atom by right side and take the flat upper and make it lighten transperantsy too ( i think you work with Gimp :D)

iyeru, let see the result :)

1. Match whatever it represents.

2. Look good at any scale/level of detail.

3. Be just as effective in black and white.

4. Use as few colors as possible (ties in with the above).

5. Match with anything it's placed with.

Your logo is nice, but it doesn't really fit any of those. I can't really look at it without thinking "Lololol blue ballz"

Is that what you want to be everyone's first impression of ROS?
Interestingly, the official ReactOS breaks many of these rules. :P
Not really:
1. it does... the official name is "react os" - reaction - reactor - nuclear reactor - atomic reactor - atom... get it?
2. It looks good even at 16x16
3. Yes... if in 2d shapes of a circle and lines yes
4. it has only two - a blueish and a grey
5. it matches with most stuff but truth be told blue, white, or black suit it best
