I'm ressurecting this thread to put in a note that the NoCC reimplementation is now complete enough to boot to gui on an ext2 partition, loading freeldr from grub. I've synced my git repo into the arty-newcc branch (reviving it) and I invite those interested to help work on it.

The main limitation still left is that very large files and partitions greater than 2 gig probably won't work yet. These will be fixed soon.

Getting set up is a bit complicated, but it involved copying freeldr.sys to the root of your ext2 partition and loading it from grub. Since there are likely still bad bugs, this is even more so than most parts of reactos only for those deeply experienced with reactos, and *should* *not* be tried out your favorite linux box just yet.

Nice work! Should quell the complaints from those that say there's no progress being made.

This will not quell. The complaints are valid to some degree. Considering how much work is still outstanding.

Wrong words. Hopefully... this will quell. Or give some indication as to progress being made.
