DVD Cover

Post by ramon25 » Tue Mar 13, 2007 9:16 am

Hello,

is here anybody who created a ReactOS-Cover for a DVD-Box? I like to put a pretty box into my bookshelf :)

If not, I try to make a cover and put it here for all :)

A paper cd case would be great too ! :o

Hi!

This already came up in the german forum. I did a DVD Cover and CD Paper Case is in the works.

You can download the DVD Cover here:

http://gateshater.ga.funpic.de/ROS/reac ... er_0_3.png - PNG Version
http://gateshater.ga.funpic.de/ROS/reac ... er_0_3.xcf - XCF Version to edit the cover with gimp

Hope you like it but if you have any ideas about changing the design or text let me know.

Hello ,
it looks nice.. though i would suggest reducing the font size on the txt part on the left as it seem to be tooo much of a tight fix there..

1st- IMANDIX Cover (a tool for DVD coverdesigners to display or present their covers) could help much, i think. Sony DADC downloads, multiformat templates and CD and DVD Artwork Case Booklet Templates could be useful too... 8)

2nd- some other links that could help:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DIYMarketing

1. Cool covers ! What about the disc label ? (templates, papers templates and Laser templates could help.... :P )

2. LiveCD any1 ?

Another point: putting the version number would mean re-printing (and remaking) the cover/label every time a new release comes out.
In my opinion marketing "materials" should be more generic...

Last but not least: it could be interesting to have a CD Carrier and Mailer for press/reviews/etc...

EDIT: for those who needs CD/DVD logos, here's Illustrate IT font by Icompile.info

@forart
thx for your links
but those are were only templates for ms word
who create a cover in word? :?

your comment to the version numbers is right
but you burn also one cd for any version
so you can give any version and cd one cover 8)

Not at all !
CD Carriers and Mailers seems to be in EPS format (even if, unfortunally, you must be registered to download them)... as any other on designerstoolbox.com.

BTW, I hope links i posted could INSPIRE you, then i think a template "port" (from any format, including DOC) could be done.

I like mf's Design

Post by Bond007s » Mon Mar 26, 2007 7:03 am

I really think that mf has the best layout. I really like it. However. I would prefer it to not have the version number as I would as most people at this point use a CDRW cd. I also wish that these pictures people keep using from the screenshots actually had the shown wallpapers in ReactOS media wallpapers. They look good. The non Black side looks the best to me...
