Thisis the original svg, but is in svgz form to save space. If you want the svg right away, you can look at the wikipedia page about the svg, and download the first revision.

The svgz file is not downloadable for me. I get errors, see this screenshot:

I just interested on which parts in the orginal file are vectorized and do not waste too much disk space.
Last time, I meant the other glow directly surrounding the ball was fixed, which overlapped the whole outside margin of the ball.
I made the blueisch glow and fixed the other glow overlaping the ball (? I don't know why, but the wikipedia preview often seems to be different to mine. This time you can compare the preview with mine. http://gateshater.ga.ohost.de/ROS/logo/ ... htext1.png)

I know you can't see the svgz. The mime-type isn't set for svgz. This doesn't matter because Firefox can't render the svg anyway.
You can get the original svg out of a svgz by manually downloading it, rename the extension to .gz and extract with just about any zip utility. Or you could (as I said before) go to the Wikipedia page about the svg and download the first revision (click on the date), as I've already done this before.
About the wrong rendering by Wikipedia: the Wikipedia renderer is rsvg and although it supports more of the svg standard than Firefox, it still isn't perfect. The svg in your renderer looks better and more accurate indeed. You could just wait until rsvg has improved and Wikipedia had upgraded, but this could take a while. You could try to hack you svg by manually editing it, but this is extremely tedious to do.

Now it worked to open the orginal svg. Only the surrounding grey lines are really vectorized in this file.
A manually edit is nothing for me. I would have to study the syntax, calculate values and so on. It would take too much time.

Thanks, I just want to make an svg which ist perfect enough to be a good replace to the big svgz file.
"a" and "c" glow downgraded ("c" glow was also little too white)
corrected the ball glow. The defect was not visible because the text overlapped them
Comparing the png and the svg I would say, the lines of the svg are even thinner than the lines of the png. What do you think?

That's what the svgz in SVN is. It's the AI directly exported to SVG using Illustrator 10. Apparently Adobe has a different idea about the SVG format than librsvg and Firefox's parser, so I'm guessing that's why nobody can open it. It does display with the Adobe SVG viewer, though. Anyway, as promised, here is the orb without transparency, without wisps, or any other effects. It is from the original logo as I got it from Jason Filby (some of you might remember him ), but upscaled to a decent resolution and with some touchup work. This is also the texture I've used in the AI and SVGZ. It'd be really cool if you could convert this into vector gradients and shapes. That way the logo, with some minor adjustments, will be accurate enough to be called official.ROSFan wrote:edit: Do you can convert the ai file to svg? Now I could make an exactly scan with potrace. I made two Versions:
-Fully vectorized (best quality for resizing but 839 and 793 KB)
