At this stage is not so difficult to remove transparency. [ external image ]
This is one more of those designs, that present itself with abundence of graphic decorations on a space that's suppose to be the workspace. You know, that's fine to please your eye for the first twenty seconds or so, but this is an operating system, not a renaissance painting.
I am clearly in favour of transparency. It gives reactos a modern and beautiful look.
Is it currently possibly to install a transparent theme on a trunk version?

The term "design" is not limited to aesthetics, and there already was (and I belive there still is room for more) design improvement in ReactOS compared to Windows. The simple fact that ReactOS has this forum section open to community suggestions may give it an edge over the corporate design decisions. I'm not talking about fancy stuff here, it can be just the common sense material that gets the chance to be considered.
we have an own implementation of uxtheme.dll which makes it possible to apply WinXP Styles for Windows and Controls, but not yet for Taskbar.
This will change when we got explorer_new to work, where also the taskbar is themed.
Just open services.exe, set theming to autostart, reboot, copy your favourite style to %WINDIR%\Resources\Themes (you have to create this directory) and apply the style in Desktop properties.
