New logo & cover design

Post by ShamanPL »

Some time ago I made them and I thought they're worth sharing:

Nice. It's minimalistic, modern and quite similar to ROS current logo :)

I must admit, the simplicity really makes it look really nice :-)
ReactOS is still in alpha stage, meaning it is not feature-complete and is recommended only for evaluation and testing purposes.

I like it, but I also think the background is a little plain. Even some slight variations (nothing too obvious) would make it nicer to look at while keeping it simple. Just my $0.02. Again, I do like it.

No one has objections to all-low-case "reactos"?

Maybe it's even good. Somebody complained about the cross-like letter t in the current logo. Also, they objected to using the word daemon in the OS (it is now service).

Great work :) I'd like to see branding like this adopted.

The Logo looks interesting, so I experimented with the boot logo to see what would happen. I was going for a minimal approach, showing a smaller version of the logo without any text around it except for the copyright information. This plays homage to the current Vista/7 boot screens as version 3.11 of ReactOS played homage to Windows 3.11 in terms of it's boot screen.

Unfortunately, the boot splash image shown below is larger in size and takes longer for the image to appear on the boot screen.

Can't say I like the whole Metro thing, but if we're going to copy that too...
MetROS. I like it. And nice image too!
